MAAA Wingspan

31 AUGUST WING SPAN MAAALogo. It is our job to ensure the lines of communication remain consistently open and that we engage with these past members regularly to see whether there is any way the club can assist. It could be that they feel too old for the sport (as has been stated in the survey). In this instance, the aeromodeller can still be invited back as a member to provide their knowledge and wisdom to current members and be engaged within the club on a social level. They could also assist with the junior pilots and assist them in obtaining their wings. For some past members, they just want to be heard and need to be followed up with a letter in the mail- a courtesy reminder that they remain a valued club member who is dearly missed and will be welcomed back to the club when they are ready to renew their membership again. An example letter could be: Hi XX We have noticed that you have not renewed your membership at our club. You are a valued member of our club and will be dearly missed. If you require any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out. You are always welcome in our club, if and when you decide to return. Kind regards Club President. Supporting our members both past and present is vital for the future of our sport. Understanding why members aren’t renewing their membership gives our clubs valuable insight into ways we can approach these past members, nurture and support them and even encourage them back into aeromodelling.
