SUPPORTING THE ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE
The 2015 Australian Model Flying Day held across
the country between 24-25 October 2015 was a great
success. The MAAA extends their thanks to all clubs
who took part in the day especially those clubs that
did not order badges or were not able to receive them,
but still held a fund raising event.
From all the reports received the concept of the
Australian Model Flying Day was a huge success and is
likely to be held as an annual MAAA event.
A special thanks goes to members who fly at the
Western Australia Model Aircraft Sport Centre at
Whiteman Park who put a great effort into working
with the MAAA to promote aeromodelling. As a result
of their efforts the Today Show in Perth did five live
crosses to the club and you can see this vision,

Clubs held static displays of model aircraft at shopping
centres, barbeques, and fun flyins to name a few.
Some clubs used the day as part of club anniversaries
and open days and in some cases the badges were
provided to the members by the club for taking part in
the flying activities.
The 2016 Australian Model Flying Day

on the 22-23 October. Be sure to register your club
early and order your badges, the 2016 charity is to be
confirmed.
