The skills of young flyer Wade have
not gone unnoticed by veterans at the
Holdfast Model Aero Club in Adelaide.
Wade fell in love with flight after seeing
Top Gun as a (really) little boy and at
the grand old age of eight, it’s still his
favouritemovie!
With the help of his dad, Wade
answered a few questions for
Wingspan.
When and how did you become
involved in flying?
I was about three years old when I first
saw Top Gun and since then I have
wanted to fly and Top Gun is still my
favouritemovie.
Do you have any flying goals, what
would you like to achieve?
Yes, I would like to become an
instructor so that I can teachmy
younger brother to fly.
Who do you look up to on the
aeromodelling scene?
Ross Lloyd, who was kind tome when I
first went to the flying club and who got
me started.
What is your favourite aircraft to fly?
So far I have only flownmy ST
Discovery.
Are you involved in other categories of
flying?
No, I amstill training to go solo.
Have you entered any competitions?
Not yet, but I would like to do combat
and pylon flying.
What’s your biggest achievement
so far?
Being able to take off and land.
What’s themost fun thing about flying?
Getting to knowmore people.
