Luke is responsible for some of the

best paint jobs on aircraft around the

country and his name comes quickly

to themind of top flyers in our sport

Building hundreds of models, being

the President of the Queensland

Turbine Flyers Association and

working hands-on with aircraft for

many years, has taken Luke on an

interesting journey, which includes

compiling instructions and prototypes

for a Chinese jet company!

He shares his experience and pictures

of some of his topmodels with

Wingspan.

“I have always been very hands-

on with scratch building projects,

painting and engineering all sorts

of features. I have built hundreds of

models for myself and others as I

enjoy themateship and the friends

you fly with regularly themost.

“I fly warbirds, helicopters, aerobatic

models and jets and anything in

between.”

Luke has nine birds, four jets, one

warbird, one aerobatic model and

three helicopters all built from

scratch!

“My favouritemodel is my trusty Extra

260 that I painted in the Castrol Edge

scheme. It is eight years old this year

and I recently won the nationals again

with it in April.

OF THE QUEENSLAND TURBINE FLYERS (QTF). HE WAS INTRODUCED TO THE HOBBY BY A

FRIEND AND HAS BEEN FLYING SINCE HE WAS 12 YEARS OLD.
